President Jim Wilson called the meeting to order on August 5th, 2014 at the MCL Cafeteria.
Roll Call was answered by 62 members.
Guests: Tom Cobb introduced Robert Johnson who is in the process of purchasing a Model A. Bob Walton introduced Kristin and Guy Richie who have several vehicles.
Health and Welfare: Annette Williams reported Mike Luenz, Vivian Miller, Ed Wagoner, and Marlene Peterson to be improving. Bob Peterson still enjoys receiving cards and phone calls. Jim Wyrick has a granddaughter who is very ill at this time. Annette sent a sympathy card to the family of member Ron Cline who passed away in July.
Drawings: The MCL Gift card was won by Gene McKinley, Free Membership for a friend was won by Malcolm Miller and Barry Wheeler won the Dog n Suds gift card.
Secretary Jean Gosma read the July minutes. Curt Wiliams moved they be approved as read. Malcolm Miller seconded.
Treas. Report: Pam Luenz gave balances as follows: checking balance $1,941.72, savings balance $903.04, CD balance of $536.73 and another CD balance of $551.77. Pam says we currently have 114 members.
Jim explained the Dammit Doll and the Silver Spike for the new members.
Harold Williams reported on the men's breakfast and Vivian Miller reported on the Ladies' Luncheon. The next Ladies' Luncheon will be at The Other Pub on August 20th.
It was reported approximately 78 people attended the LIHAC picnic. The weather was beautiful and a good time was had by all.
It was reported that 21 vehicles was at Cumberland Pointe for the car show.
Old Business: Harold Williams gave some instructions for the Caterpillar Tour scheduled for August 13th. Jim brought up the changes to the By-Laws. He stated the Board of Directors as well as the officers had approved the recommended changes. The proposed changes were posted on the web site. Mike Luenz moved they be accepted and Tom Cobb seconded. They were approved by a unanimous show of hands.
Barry Wheeler announced that he had received a National Award at the Cadillac Convention for an article he had written.
New Business:
Tom Cobb is planning a Breakfast Tour for August 16th leaving from the West Lafayette WalMart at 8 a.m. Tom also gave some information/instructions for the Gilmore Museum for Labor Day Weekend. Jim explained the club auction that is held at the October meeting for our new members, explaining it a money making project for the Club.
Sept 14th Turkey Run Tour with lunch at Turkey Run Inn.
October 11th Fall Picnic hosted by Harold and Jo Williams. Chef Jerry Barnett is in charge of the ham and beans and hotdogs. Club members bring, table service, a covered dish to share and lawn chairs.
