LIHAC MINUTES SEPTEMBER 1, 2015

President Jim Wilson called the meeting to order on September 1, 2015 at The MCL Cafeteria. Jim began the meeting by congratulating Malcolm and Vivian Miller for their 60th Wedding Anniversary and Howard and Darlene Lumley for their 54th Anniversary. There were no guests and new member, David Arenas, was introduced by Tom Cobb. David owns the car wash at the corner of Old US 231 and the new US 52 near Elston (Valero Car Wash) and has a 1995 Pontiac Trans AM. Roll Call was answered by 56 members.

Secretary Jean Gosma read the minutes and they were approved as read.

Treasurer Pam Luenz gave the Treasurer's report with a balance in Checking of $2,846.01. Savings and CD balances remain the same. Membership stands at 113.

Bob Findlay still has the Golden Spike and Joe Goss still has the Damit Doll.

Harold Williams was delighted to announce the Men's Breakfast group had more in attendance than the Ladies' Luncheon group. He also announced the annual Turkey Run Trip is scheduled for Sept 13th, leaving from the Old US 231 at 9:30 a.m. He made reservations for 40 and the gate fee will be waived. Linda Cobb announced the next Ladies' Luncheon will be September 16th at the Lion's Den in Rossville. After lunch we'll visit the Flour Mill Bakery and Skills Orchard.

Old Business: Tom Cobb said that 36 LIHAC members went to Logansport on the Breakfast Tour. Tom also reported 24 members went on the over-night trip to Vincennes/French Lick. Both tours had safe trips, good food and fellowship with no break downs.

The trip to Indianapolis to the Milano Restaurant was cancelled as they close one time a year and that was on the date we'd chosen. Jerry Barnett stated the Nominating Committee is in need of a Vice President for the Club next year. The slate of officers will be announced at the October meeting and elected at the November meeting. If interested in this office, see Jerry.
October is the auction and we'll eat at 5:30 p.m.

Dolores Findlay announced the December Ladies' Luncheon will be December 11th at the Hour Time Restaurant. Mark your calendars. Roger Miller announced the Veterans Home has a "Round Table" the first Thursday of each month and this month a speaker will be talking on the Holocaust. Roger stated it's always very good and urged us to attend if possible.

Bob Findlay was in Hamilton, IL and attended the "Reel Meet". Acres of all kinds of old equipment. Don Gosma thanked those who brought cars, tractors and/or attended his event in August. Eldon Fredericks announced the University Place Car Show to be September 20th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Calvin Fieleke announced the "Wheels of the Past" will be at Canal Park on September 19th at 1 p.m. This is a change in location due to construction. Meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
