LIHAC MINUTES MARCH 1, 2016

March LIHAC meeting was called to order by President Brandon Stevens with 34 members and guest present.

Stand-in-secretary, Marty Burkhalter read minutes of February meeting. Minutes approved as read. Treasurer’s report by Stand-in treasurer, Jo Williams, balance of checking $3,968.64; savings $978.04; CD’s $552.27 and $537.14. We now have 94 members

One new member tonight Raymond Reeves with guest, Barbara Humm.

Brandon read birthdays and anniversaries.

Cares and Concerns, Calvin Fieleke wrote thank you letter, Dennis Clark wrote letter about his liver transplant, Jim Wilson said he is a little better and he appreciates the cards and phone calls, Ron Wiegle is now in rehab and doing better.

Joe Bowyer won the MCL gift card and Gene Gangwer won free membership.

Thank you letter received from the Lieutenant at Salvation Army for the all of our donations.

Jo Williams reported 13 ladies present for February Ladies Lunch and we did not beat the men.

March Ladies Lunch will be Friday, March 18th at Christos on Teal Road, Pat Lawson will be hostess.

Harold Williams reported 20 men present for February Men’s Breakfast. (no chicken dance tonight) Next Men’s Breakfast will be March 18th at Downtowner.

Beverly Gangwer reported on the Sweetheart Brunch, good food, good company and fireplace was warm.

St Patrick lunch will be Saturday, March 12th at 1:00 p.m. at 9 Irish Brothers in Kmart Plaza.

Brandon asked for a volunteer to buy bingo prizes. No volunteer. Jo Williams will buy the prizes. Bingo party will be on April 10 at 1:00 p.m. at Masonic Lodge in Rossville.

Brandon suggested we leave tips for our servers at MCL.

Tim Lange has organized a trip to GM assembly plant at Roanoke, IN on Tuesday, April 19th. Tour will be 45 minute walking tour. No more than 20 for the tour. No canes, scooters, or walkers, no open shoes or sandals, no high heels, no cameras, ok to leave cell phones in pocket. Leave at 6:30 a.m. from East Tipp. Middle School Parking Lot (East on 300 N) Weather permitting, our first Dog N Suds on April 3, tour prior by Tim Lange. Meet at 3:30 p.m. at Battle Ground Middle School located 4 miles north of Sagamore Parkway on CR N 50 West (Salisbury Street) just north of CR 600 North, West Lafayette.

Cade Messick is helping sponsor a benefit car show for the Elliott Family, who is having large medical expenses, on March 13th at 11:00 a.m. at the old Marsh Store beside Sams.

Cade Messick invited us to join at Lucas Oil partnering with Good Boys for Pontiac car show. More information to follow.

Brandon read articles on cold oil performance and car distractions.
