LIHAC MINUTES AUGUST 2, 2016

President Brandon Stevens called the meeting to order on August 2, 2016 at the MCL Cafeteria.

Roll Call was answered by 58 members and 2 guests.

New Members: Jeff and Linda Findlay.

Guests: Steve Wilder introduced his daughter and granddaughter, Lisa and Kaitlyn Tillman.

Secretary Jean Gosma read July Minutes and were approved as read.

Mike Luenz was acting Treasurer in Pam's absence. Checking balance is $3828.64. Savings balance remains the same. Membership is at 111.

Brandon recognized those with anniversaries and birthdays in August.

Care and Concerns: Annette Williams reported cards were sent to Harold Williams and Judy Bunnell.

Ed Wagoner had back surgery today and is home. It was reported that Jim Wilson is homebound and is not allowed to have visitors. Joyce Miller just returned home from the hospital today. Pam Luenz is also ill with a sinus infection.

Ladies Luncheon Doris Walton reported 11 ladies present which was probably less than the guys had for breakfast but she was sure the ladies had more fun with a Show and Tell.

Men's Breakfast Harold Williams reported the men had 11 also and challenged Linda Cobb to squeeze the rooster. The rooster crowed but not because Linda squeezed it!

Marty Burkhalter reported on the LIHAC Picnic. She was disappointed in the chicken from D and R and called to express her concern. The owner issued a gift certificate in the amount of $150 which was the cost of the chicken. LIHAC has purchased the chicken from D and R for several years.

August 7th. Dog n Suds. No tour is planned. Meet at D and S at 4:30 p.m.

August 13th. is the Breakfast tour. Meet at the McDonald's on old US 231 at 8:15 for a short drive.

August 19 and 20. Gosma's show at 8135 West 500 North. Old cars, tractors, hit and miss engines etc.

August 20th. Model Car Contest and Swap Meet at Community Reformed Church 9 a.m. 3 p.m. LIHAC is sponsoring an award as is the LIHAC Membership.

August 27th. Pork BBQ at Roger and Joyce Miller's home. Club provides meat and drinks. Bring a covered dish to share and your table service. Time is 12 to 4.

Harold Williams reported on the Illiana Show. Approximately 10 cars and 20 members were present and was a good show.

The one day Steam and Power show had approximately 10 cars and went well until the rain came. Still a good show for only one day.

The Dammit Doll has a new home. Joe Bowyer is the new owner and had an interesting story to share about the experience. The secret is to break down near Jerry Barnett's for assistance. The Golden Spike still resides with Bob Findlay.

Eldon Fredericks shared his story on the damage to his Ford Sunliner. Seems as a cement barrier moved over into his car?!!

Roger Miller is the new owner of a 1948 Willy's Jeep Station Wagon, maroon and painted wood on steel side panels.

The next meeting on September 6th. will be our Annual Auction. Meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. Please bring items to donate for the auction.
