LIHAC MINUTES OCTOBER 3, 2017

President Brandon Stevens called the meeting to order on October 3, 2017 at the MCL Cafeteria.

Two guests were introduced: Dick Kiser who has a 1928 Model A and Joe Eagan who has a 1981 Buick Skylark. Dale Harner was introduced as a new member.

Care and Concern: Linda Cobb said that cards were sent to Jean Gosma, Eldon Fredericks, Deb Courtney, and Curt Williams.

Linda also has tickets for the quilt raffle. They are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. See Linda after the meeting.

This is a quilt made by the LIHAC ladies. The drawing will be at the Christmas Party on December 10, 2017.

Treasurer Pam Luenz gave the Treasurer's report with a balance in checking of $4648.28. Savings Balance of $1028.17 and a CD balance of $537.49. September's auction total was $1203.00. Current membership is 106.

Secretary Jean Gosma read the minutes and they were approved as read.

October 12, 2017 is the Ladies Luncheon at Oakdale Inn. We will meet at Market Square on the Arnies side at 11 a.m. to car pool. Linda Lewis is our hostess.

October 20 is the men's breakfast at the Downtowner at Market Square.

Gene Gangwer reported on the Hill Climb. Five trophies was awarded to LIHAC members. WAY TO GO!!Gene, Pat Malone (2 trophies), Larry Shephard and Joe Bowyer are our winnners.

Eldon Fredericks announced the Immanuel United Church of Christ at 1526 South 18th. St. Lafayette IN. is hosting is October Fest this Sunday. They are having a car show after church. Bring an old car and a covered dish to share (from a German recipe) and have dinner. ****More information will be on the web site.

Lynn Senesac reported on the tour he sponsored to his home and then to Crawfordsville. It was an excellent trip with lots of positive response.

Barry Wheeler received a first place trophy at the Hickory Corner Fall Festival. Congratulations to Barry!

Dick Kiser reported on the Friendship House car show.

Tom Cobb announced the October 14th. Breakfast Tour will start at the Meijer's in West Lafayette at 8:30 a.m. sharp. We will travel to Kentland, IN to the Good Table Restaurant and if anyone can eat all of the Big Boy Breakfast by themselves, Tom will buy. He didn't disclose what this meal consisted of!!!

Jerry and Jean Barnett will host the Soup Social on October 22, 2017 at Buck Creek, beginning at 12 noon, eating at 1 p.m. People volunteered to bring soup. Everyone else should bring table service and a dish to share. Water and coffee will be provided.

Pam and Mike Luenz will be hosting a tour on October 29, 2017 to the Jasper/Pulaski Wildlife area. There are between 10,000 and 40,000 birds at this location. We will leave from the Tippecanoe Amphitheater on 43 North at 3:45 p.m. and travel to the Whistle Stop in Monon for a meal. The birds don't come in until dusk, so be prepared for cool weather and bugs!

There will be a Board Meeting in December to plan for 2018. If interested in planning a tour, see a Board Member.

Harold Williams reported that 34 people went on the Turkey Run Tour.
